Just a Must Presents WOMAN BOMB, May 2-4
By: Nicole Rosky
Just a Must returns to Tristan Bates Theatre in May with the UK premiere of Woman Bomb by multi-award winning Croatian playwright Ivana Sajko, following a successful first run in March. This production is an international collaboration between British, Croatian, Serbian, Spanish and Portugese artists. The performances and accompanying community outreach programme are supported by National Lottery through Arts Council England and Westminster Arts.
Woman Bomb is a play featuring the character of a female suicide bomber in the last minutes before a suicide attack. The voice of the playwright is mixed together with that of the character of the bomber she created, as they dialogue in an enticing combination of real life documentary, powerful descriptions of the event and the intimate thoughts of both the playwright and the suicide bomber."That these skilled actors are able to handle such difficult and provocative material so well is helped in no small measure by the fine writing of Ivana Sajko"Ivana Sajko is a multi-award winning playwright and champion of what she calls "unbearable political theatre". Her plays have been translated into many languages and staged in theatres throughout the world (USA, Australia, France, Germany and Switzerland, amongst others).LISTINGS INFORMATION
