Having successfully completed three years as an Original Cast Member/Assistant Dance Captain for the 2010 Tony Winner for "Best Musical," Memphis, Ms. Figgins now performs, ChocoLove Voices, Sunday, November 20th, 2011, 7:00 PM at The Triad Theatre. ChocoLove Voices is written by Dionne Figgins with music composed and accompanied by AnastasiaVictory.
ChocoLove Voices explores one woman's journey and relationship with the 4-letter word, "love" with exploration of the definition through personal stories. Through original music by Ms. Victory and monologues written by Ms. Figgins, the audience will embark on a journey to define love through a woman's eyes, revealing its meaning as it relates to our everyday lives.
Dionne Figgins' made her Broadway debut in Maurice Hines' Hot Feet then joined The Wiz, directed by Des McAnuff, at the La Jolla Playhouse followed by the Broadway-bound musical Ray Charles Live!, directed by Sheldon Epps. Her performance in Smokey Joe's Cafe at the El Portal Theater in LA earned her a 2009 Ovation Nomination for Featured Actress in a Musical. Along with stage and screen roles, Ms. Figgins has performed in dance companies worldwide and has taught at Dance Theatre of Harlem and at The Ailey School.
