SPRING AWAKENING and GLEE alum Jonathan Groff has officially signed on to join Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell in Disney's upcoming animated musical feature FROZEN. The Tony-nominated actor will help bring the character 'Kristoff' to life. The icey, epic journey is set for a Nov. 27, 2013 theatrical release.

Frozen, directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, is described as being the coolest comedy-adventure ever to hit the big screen. When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna, a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his sidekickreindeer Sven on an epic journey to find Anna's sister Elsa, the Snow Queen, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, a funny snowman named Olaf, Everest-like extremes and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Besides SPRING AWAKENING and GLEE, Groff also appeared in the Shakespeare in the Park productions of HAIR and THE BACCHAE, the off-Broadway plays THE SINGING FOREST and A PRAYER FOR MY ENEMY, Ang Lee's TAKING WOODSTOCK, and most recently, in the Starz series BOSS, alongside Kelsey Grammer.

Frozen will feature original songs by Tony-award winner Robert Lopez ("The Book of Mormon," "Avenue Q") and Kristen Anderson-Lopez ("In Transit").
