Legendary Theatrical Impresario Joe Masteroff

Caldwell Theatre Company honors legendary playwright, Joe Masteroff, with its eighth Spotlight Award on December 8, 2008 at the Caldwell Theatre Company in the Count de Hoernle Theatre.
The author who wrote the hit musicals She Loves Me and Cabaret will receive his Spotlight Award at a Champagne Reception Ceremony. The evening will include music and readings from Joe Masteroff plays as tributes to this internationally renowned playwright.
This year's Spotlight Award coincides with Caldwell's production of Mr. Masteroff's musical She Loves Me, which runs from November 9 - December 14. Known as the musical "impossible not to love" (TheaterMania) and "a continuously melodic evening of sheer enchantment..." (The New York Times,) She Loves Me is considered one of the most charming musicals ever written.
Caldwell's Spotlight Award is presented to an artist who has devoted a lifetime of distinguished service to the arts while advancing the art of theater. Past recipients of the Spotlight Award include Len Cariou, Nehemiah Persoff, Julie Harris, Christopher Reeve, Roddy McDowall, Cliff Robertson and Charles Nelson Reilly.
