Joe Gulla's "DADDY" will close the The Sixth Annual United Solo Festival held at New York City's Theatre Row. "DADDY" is the final chapter of Gulla's popular "Bronx Queen Trilogy". "FAGGY at 50", the second chapter of the trilogy, was awarded the United Solo Award for "Best One Man Show" at the 2014 United Solo Awards.

"Last year, "FAGGY at 50" was selected to open the Fifth Annual United Solo Festival. So, I find it poetic that "DADDY" will close the festival this year! "DADDY" rounds out my "Bronx Queen Trilogy"! It's an honor to have it do the same for the festival."

What can we expect from "DADDY"? "'The Bronx Queen' was my 'coming of age' monologue. 'FAGGY at 50' was my 'getting to a certain age' monologue," Gulla jokes. "Daddy' is all about me coming to terms with, you guessed it, my "inner Daddy".

"DADDY" follows the same format of the other monologues. It's a 'purist' approach. The set-up is an homage to the legendary monologuist, Spalding Gray. I sit at a desk with black binder and water bottle at the ready. I am a pretty animated person in real life. It has been a cool exercise for me... getting to the root of simple storytelling. No bells. No whistles."

Gulla's "Daddy" chronicles the playwright/actor's life from his early twenties living in Manhattan to his years living in Ibiza, Spain and Rome, Italy. As always, Joe weaves in stories from his days growing up as a gay Bronx Italian.

"Most family's lives are punctuated by special events, birthdays and anniversaries. As an Italian-American growing up in the Bronx, our lives were built around Ronzoni Pasta numerics. Wednesday was Ronzoni Vermicelli, Number 10. Sundays were Ronzoni Rigatoni, Number 27. The numbers mattered! God forbid, I brought home the wrong number when I was sent to our local Italian grocer! It would create family hysteria!"

"Christmas Caroline" written by Joe Gulla will have its World Premiere this coming November on Theatre Row in Hollywood, California. Joe is also the author of "Reel Wood" which was a huge success at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Joe's "Knock Off!" premiered this past July at Theatre Southwest's "Festival of Originals'. He is also the author of "Garbo".

Theatre Row is located at 410 W. 42nd Street. Tickets to the closing night performance of "Daddy" can be purchased by calling Telecharge (212) 239-6200 or visit http://JoeGulla.com.
