Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe, SAG and Tony-winning actor Jeremy Irons makes his first appearance on episodic network television, in a special guest-starring role on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Irons, who won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for "Reversal of Fortune," also won an Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in the HBO mini-series "Elizabeth I," and has a multitude of honors to his credit. He will play Dr. Cap Jackson, a sex therapist who runs a sex addition rehab clinic in the upcoming "SVU" episode titled "Mask." The episode will be filmed later this month and will air in early 2011.

Executive Producer Neal Baer says "we're elated to work with an actor of Jeremy's caliber. He brings depth, intelligence and charisma to all his varied roles and we couldn't be luckier to have him guest star on "SVU.'"

"Law & Order: SVU" is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Dick Wolf, Ted Kotcheff, Neal Baer and Peter Jankowski are executive producers.

Jeremy Irons stage credits include the Broadway productions of IMPRESSIONISM and THE REAL THING.  He appeared in the Off-Broadway production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and the West End production of GODSPELL.  He is featured on various cast recording including GOD SPELL and MY FAIR LADY.
