Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is set to lend her voice to the Sandy Hook Student Chorus this Sunday at the Super Bowl, The Hollywood Reporter announced this evening.

Hudson will join the twenty-six students from Newtown, Conn.'s Sandy Hook Elementary School to perform the song 'America the Beautiful' during the pre-game show of Super Bowl XLVII.

The performance will air live and will occur just prior to Alicia Keys singing of The National Anthem.

The choir will perform in memory of the 26 students and faculty who were tragically gunned down on December 14th in what has become the second deadliest school shooting in American history.

The NFL has been a source of strength to the town of Newton. Each team held a moment of silence before the games which immediately followed the tragedy. The athletes also donned "S.H.E.S" decals on their helmets to show their support for the Connecticut community.

The Sandy Hook choir recently performed 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' with Grammy-nominated singer Ingrid Michaelson on the one-month anniversary of the shooting.

Hudson skyrocketed to stardom with her film debut in Dreamgirls, which earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Hudson's self-titled debut album won the Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2008. She released her sophomore album, I Remember Me, in early 2012. Hudson can next be seen on the upcoming second season of NBC's SMASH.
