'Jekyll & Hyde ' in Concert welcomes Lauren Kennedy & Victoria Matlock

By:

Lauren Kennedy: It's exciting to be a part of a new re-inventing of Jekyll and Hyde, because I've always wanted to do the show, but the timing has never been right. This production is going to make it very accessible for the audience to click into the music and the story. I can't wait to see where this will go."

Pati Buehler: Your CD is really nice. What else is going on with you?

LK
: Thank you. It was one of the most rewarding things I have done. Jason Robert Brown is a good friend of mine and we had a good time putting it together. I was unable to do it before because I was in London doing South Pacific. I've just had a baby girl 11 weeks ago, and I'm now just getting my feet wet again. I going to St. Louis to do "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with my husband. I've also got a couple of offers on the table that I haven't decided on yet. Now, with the baby, you have to pick and choose the projects that are worth doing. It's nice to get offers but I love being a mother. She's a great baby, and we'll see what takes place next.

PB: Congratulations on your new baby girl! This is not the first time you have played Rob Evan's girl. I last saw you at Neil Berg's "Chess In Concert" as Florence at the Helen Hayes Theater in Nyack, NY.

LK:
Yes! That was just a wonderful concert, with an amazing cast.

PB
: I'm so glad you are part of this concert and hope you have a great experience.

LK
: Thank you!

Victoria Matlock: Jekyll & Hyde in Concert (understudy for Lucy & Emma)

Pati Buehler
: It's very nice to meet you. Please tell us more about yourself...

Victoria Matlock
: Well, I came to New York about five years ago and did the Full Monty Tour. I was involved with Dracula and auditioned for this concert and was hired to understudy both roles. I admire Frank's work a lot because it's emotional, dark and beautiful. Frank has been very kind to me, taking me under his wing and introducing me to everyone.

PB
: What a great opportunity for you. Where are you from and where did you train?

VM
: I'm from Salt Lake City Utah and I trained at the University of Northern Colorado as a musical theater major.

PB
: I'm sure this will be an exciting weekend for everyone and I look forward to seeing you in a show real soon. Thanks for talking with me.

VM
: Thank you for asking me.
