Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV) is bringing its Outreach Program to Ronald McDonald House NY, with Jeanine Tesori, Jason Robert Brown and more.
As part of its ongoing mission to change lives through the power of music and service, BIV's Outreach Program, "Songs in the Key of Me", matches BIV members with youth and families in need. The teams craft a personal song over the course of several weeks, culminating in a performance by the children, by BIV members and by others within the Broadway community.
Now in its sixth year, "Songs in the Key of Me" will match songwriters and a pediatric cancer patient and their family. The composer/lyricists for the September program are: Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home), Jason Robert Brown (Bridges of Madison County), Griffin Matthews & Matt Gould (Invisible Thread) Amanda Yesnowitz (Somewhere in Time) & Barbara Anselmi (It Shoulda Been You), and BIV Member Tasha Michelle.
The program, coordinated by BIV Outreach Director Danielle Kamillah Thomas and RMDH Hospital Outreach Program Associate Jennifer Ricca, will be presented on Tuesday, September 20th.
Ronald McDonald House New York provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems.
