James Moye, Rita Harvey and More to Join CLOSER THAN EVER

The York Theatre Company in association with Edward Negley, Neil Berg and Adam Friedson, will welcome James Moye (Dogfight, Million Dollar Quartet) to the cast of Closer Than Ever with Lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and Music by David Shire, filling in for George Dvorsky from September 25 – October 7, due to a prior commitment.

Understudies Rita Harvey (Fiddler on the Roof, The Phantom of the Opera), and Jamie LaVerdiere (York's Roadside, The Producers) will also join The company on September 25.

With direction by Mr. Maltby, associate direction and choreography by Kurt Stamm and music direction by Andrew Gerle, the cast features Jacquelyn Piro Donovan (Miss Saigon, Les Misérables), George Dvorsky (The Scarlet Pimpernel) Anika Larsen (Xanadu, All Shook Up, Avenue Q) and Sal Viviano (The Full Monty). Now in performance through November 25, 2012 at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Celebrities that have recently been spotted at Closer Than Ever include: Joan Rivers, Linda Lavin, Michael Feinstein, Kathie Lee Gifford, Judy Collins, Doris Roberts, Jonathan Tunick, John Kander, Karen Akers, Donna McKechnie, Hal Prince, John McMartin, Tovah Feldshuh, Christian Borle, Seth Rudetsky, Karen Ziemba, Cady Huffman, Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Sondheim, Danny Burstein, Rebecca Luker, Hunter Foster, Jenn Cody, Charles Strouse, Sheldon Harnick, Nancy Ford, Tom Jones, and more! It was recently announced that a new cast album will be released by JAY Records.

The creative team includes James Morgan (set), Nicole Wee (costumes), and Kirk Bookman (lights). The Production Stage Manager is Bernita Robinson.
Closer Than Ever plays the following performance schedule Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., Wednesdays through Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. & 8:00 p.m, and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
