J. Mark McVey Joins Jemmy Powers As Guest At Sardi's Concert

Due to the overwhelming audience and critical response Sardi's management has scheduled additional Saturday evening concerts with Broadway star and vocal power house, James Barbour.

The new concert series, entitled "Love Songs" will premiere on Saturday, January 31st and continue through Saturday, February 28th at Broadway's premiere destination, Sardi's (234 West 44th Street – between Broadway & Eighth Avenue).

Musical Direction is by Jeremy Roberts.
       
Broadway's J. Mark McVey will join Jemmy Powers as a Special Guest Artist on Saturday, February 7.

The Love Songs Concert song list will include: Loving You Keeps Me Alive, If Ever I would Leave You, If I Loved You,  If I Can't Love Her,  If Dreams Come True, My Funny Valentine, Embraceable You, On The Street Where You Live, Unexpected Song and Autumn Leaves among others.

The Love Songs Concert playing schedule is as follows: Saturday, January 31, Saturday, February 7; Friday, February 13; Saturday, February 14; Sunday, February 15; Saturday, February 21; and Saturday, February 28.
 
Concert time is at 9:30pm. Dinner seating is at 8:30pm.

J. Mark  McVey made his Broadway debut as Jean Valjean, in Les Miserables, after having won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actor while in Washington, DC, with the show. J. Mark was also the first American to perform that role in London's West End. In all Mr. McVey has completed 7 full years as Jean Valjean with 2,912 performances. In August this year J. Mark performed at the Hollywood Bowl to sold out crowds where 53,000 people saw Les Mis in concert in three days. Other Broadway, New York, International and Regional leads include: The Who's Tommy, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public, Chess, Show Boat, Hey Love, A Helluva Town, The Show Goes On, Carousel, My Fair Lady, South Pacific and Seven Brides. J. Mark McVey made his Carnegie Hall debut in 1997 with the NY Pops Orchestra. When not performing solo concerts, with various Symphonic, Corporate and Charitable organizations, J. Mark often performs with Composer/Entertainer Marvin Hamlisch and the most wonderful Symphony Orchestra's across the world including Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, The National Symphony, Dallas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Houston, San Diego, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Jerusalem, Brazil and numerous others. J. Mark made his PBS debut with the Boston Pops, and followed that performance with the PBS Christmas Special from the Kennedy Center for the U.S. Military Troups. And in 2006 Mark received a Gold Record for his participation in the Rock Album "The Lost Christmas Eve". J. Mark McVey also performs in concert with his wife Christy Tarr-McVey who has been featured in three Broadway shows and numerous Industrials. Jenny Powers is currently originating the role of Gina in Happiness, Susan Stroman's new musical at Lincoln Center. Toklas in Galati and Flaherty's Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein (AboutFaceTheate / MCA); Isabella Andreini in Flahtery and Aherns' The Glorious Ones(Pittsburgh Public); Sondheim's Bounce (Kennedy Center, Goodman); Dangerous Beauty (NYSF, Barber Theatre).
