Acclaimed American entertainer Jim Bailey is to mark the 40th anniversary of the death of the legendary Judy Garland with six spectacular West ?End shows - Jim Bailey as Judy Garland: the 40th Anniversary Concert.

Judy would have been 87 years old on June 10, and Bailey, America's foremost impersonator, is marking the occassion with his acclaimed portrayal.

The show is at Leicester Square Theatre from Tuesday June 9 to Sunday June 14.

In an evening full of song, hysterical anecdotes and MGM stories once told by the lady herself, Bailey - Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year four times - will be singing all Judy's greatest hits, including Over the Rainbow, Get Happy, The Trolley Song, The Man That Got Away and some rare gems.

Bailey has been successful since the late 1960s, when he made his Las Vegas debut. Judy Garland saw him many times in 1968 and and in the 1970s he performed two concerts with her daughter, Liza Minnelli, and they became friends. In England he did many Sunday Nights at the London Palladium and because of the success he then did two seasons at the London Palladium in 1977 and 1984. He last played there in 1995. He also appeared on TV on Saturday Night at the Mill, David Frost, Russell Harty, Wogan, Des O'Connor and five times on Richard and Judy. He appeared on a couple of Royal Variety Shows and four seasons at the Cafe Royal' Green Room. He has also starred on many American TV shows from Here's Lucy to Ally McBeal.

An accomplished singer (with an operatic background from Philadelphia Conservatory of Music), as well as a brilliant make-up artist, Bailey spends numerous hours preparing for each show. In doing so, he is able to recreate the visual presence and vocal techniques of the legendary ladies he brings to the stage. His acting skill, combined with his mastery of voice, make-up, and costumes, put him in a class all his own.
