The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) and City Hall Comedy are proud to bring you the return of the mashed hit musical sensation, a bite-sized production of everyone's favorite rock opera about the very first Easter weekend featuring a huge, delicious, starch-studded cast of fresh potatoes, a kitchen choir, and one very lonely, piano-playing short order cook.

Jesus Christ Tatertot (JCTT) is a 45-minute abridged (and entirely unauthorized) take on the hopefull-not-terribly-litigious Andrew Lloyd Weber's masterpiece rock opera, where every part is played by a potato, puppeteered by NYC sketch mainstays (read: old people) City Hall. While the plot and the score remain unchanged (though cut down considerably), the lyrics have been revised to support the all-vegetable cast.

At the Holy Land Diner, Hosannas become Ore-Idas, the harrowing, legendary refrain of "Crucify him!" echoes through the coliseum as "Peel and fry him," and we see a heartbroken Judas hurl himself in to a deep-fryer. All this at the hands of a dedicated staff of sous chefs and line cooks, backed by a choir of servers, who bring the audience tater tots, inviting them to eat the golden-brown flesh of Jesus Crisp himself.

With nothing but reverence for both the original story and the Broadway blockbuster, JCTT began as an experiment - could City Hall, in their eleventh year, get away with just making one, extraordinarily dumb joke over and over again? And would people have as much fun watching it as they have doing it? If last year's sold out performances were any indication, the answer is a resounding and miraculous yes.

Established in 2005, City Hall has played all over the country, just about every venue in New York City, and even occasionally in Canada. They're 2-time Jackpot Sketch Comedy Competition winners, They've headlined the Empire Comedy Festival in New York City, the Sarasota Improv Festival in Sarasota, FL., The Atomic Comedy Festival in Arlington VA., and the Adirondack Comedy Festival in Gloversville, NY. Other festival appearances have included the Los Angeles Comedy Festival, Philly Comedy Fest, The Miami Improv Festival, and Snubfest.

Your City Hall members are Chris Booth, Julia Darden, Luis Nunez, Jake Keefe, and Josh Wolinsky.

City Hall is directed by Kevin Laibson.

Piano and Music Direction by Stephan Stansfield.

Additional puns by Heather Jewels.

Jesus Christ Tatertot will be performed three times on Easter Weekend:
