JACCC Presents [ALOUD] An Evening With Jonathan Franzen & More

By:

[ALOUD] An Evening With
Jonathan Franzen
Thursday, 9.16.10 8pm

Presented by The Library Foundation of Los Angeles, co-represented with the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center.

In Freedom, his first novel since The Corrections, Jonathan Franzen gives us an epic of contemporary love and marriage, comically and tragically capturing The Temptations and burdens of liberty: the thrills of teenage lust, the shaken compromises of middle age, the wages of suburban sprawl, the heavy weight of empire. In charting the mistakes and joys of Freedom's characters, Franzen has produced an indelible and deeply moving portrait of our time.

Event followed by an audience Q&A and book signing in the lobby.
