Insurgo Theatre Movement Presents MURDER PARTY, 12/10-12/19
EVERYBODY DIES. On December 10th the Insurgo Theater Movement will launch the Original Series portion of the 2009-2010 Season with the world premiere stage adaption of the cult phenomenon, 'Murder Party'. The show will run until December 19.
"It's Halloween night in Brooklyn. Chris, a lonesome and unremarkable fellow, finds a mysterious invitation on the street and follows it to what he thinks will be a fun costume party. It turns out to be a lethal trap set by a gang of deranged hipster artists. Their plan is to lure someone to their remote warehouse base and ritually murder them as part of an extreme artistic event. It's all to impress their wealthy and sinister guru/patron, who soon arrives with promises of grant money and his dead-eyed henchman. As the booze-and-drug-fueled night wears on, rivalries within the group flare up with violent consequences. A body count accrues and Chris must take advantage of the ensuing chaos if he's ever to escape The Warehouse and survive the night."
The horror/comedy/art satire is based on the screenplay and film by Jeremy Saulnier. It is adapted and directed by John Beane with assistance by Scott Autrey. Effects are by Scott Autrey.
The production stars Insurgo ensemble members Erik Amblad, Samuel Craner, Breon Jenay and Christo Geo Nikols and features Insurgo newcomers Candice McCullum, Tommy Watanabe, Tyler Collingsworth, Denda Brink, Shane Cullum and Mucha the dog as HELLHAMMER.
The production is approximately one hour long and does feature adult situations.

Hailed as "intimately related to the betterment for a quickly evolving Las Vegas theater status quo" and "wild west avante-garde theatre", the Insurgo Theater Movment is a non-profit organization dedicated to an exploration the theatrical form including classics, alternative and original works. Most recently, Insurgo was named Best of Vegas for 2009 from the Review Journal.
