Inland Valley Symphony Presents Carmina Burana May 22

The Inland Valley Symphony, conducted by Maestro Anthony Parnther, will close its 2010-11 Season in a joint concert with the Temecula Valley Master Chorale, directed by John Byun. The two groups, with over 120 musicians on stage, will perform Carl Orff's dramatic work, "CARMINA BURANA."

Date: May 22, 2011 (Sunday)

Time: 2:30 p.m.

Location: Gershwin Performing Arts Center at Murrieta Mesa High School

The program also includes Kate Prestia-Schaub, piccolo virtuoso and Powell Performing Artist, who will perform "Concerto for Piccolo" by Lowell Liebermann. Prestia-Schaub will also present a flute master class from 12-1 pm at the high school, prior to the concert, which is sponsored by Verne Q. Powell Flutes. A representative from the company will be present with an exhibit of flutes on display. The class is FREE to students and the public. Tickets - $15 Adults; $12 Seniors, Military & Students; Children (12 & under) & Youth Symphony Members are FREE.

This is the first time both groups have performed together. Inland Valley Symphony Music Director Anthony Parnther states,"I am very excited to collaborate on this concert with John Byun and the Temecula Valley Master Chorale. We would like to include the chorale in future performances with the Symphony during our 2011-2012 season."
