Infamous Commonwealth Theatre Presents SACRIFICE, 6/11-7/10

Infamous Commonwealth Theatre (ICT) opens the second production of their 2011 season dedicated to the topic Sacrifice with Lanford Wilson's Fifth of July directed by Edward Morgan.
Summer,1977. Ken is a legless Vietnam vet hiding from life at the large country farm he shares with his lover. The couple is hosting a variety of loved ones for the holiday weekend, including Ken's spacey aunt, tart-tongued sister, sassy teenage niece, and oldest childhood friend. As the play progresses, Ken and his guests trade hilarious anecdotes and bitter recriminations about the past, all while struggling to make peace with the irrevocable choices each have made.
Lanford Wilson is one of the most successful American Playwrights of the latter half of the twentieth century. Honors include winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1980 and being elected to the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2001. Some of his most famous plays include Balm in Gilead, Hot L Baltimore, Burn This and "The Talley Trilogy" (Fifth of July, Talley's Folly and Talley & Son).ICT has received six Non-Equity Jeff Awards and seven After Dark Awards since its inception.
