WHAT: will suspend a stunning human chandelier 200 feet in the air above Navy Pier's Gateway Park. Set against the extraordinary, theatrical backdrop of Chicago's skyline, a telescopic crane will lift the musical chandelier from which 12 performers will beat 4 drums, ring 26 bells and perform breathtaking acrobatics above the crowd.

OTHER: The American premiere of Compagnie Transe Express's Maudits Sonnants is presented as part of Chicago Shakespeare Theater's World Stage Series, and will celebrate the French national holiday Bastille Day, commemorating the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille on July 14. Bastille Day is a holiday similar in spirit to America's 4th of July - replete with revelry and fireworks – and this citywide celebration emanating from Navy Pier promises to be the most memorable Bastille Day that Chicago has experienced. The performance on Saturday, July 12, will culminate in fireworks on Navy Pier.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater is the premier presenter of international theater artists and companies in Chicago. Under the banner of the World Stage Series, CST has hosted many iconic troupes from across the globe, including The Abbey Theatre from Dublin, Shakespeare's Globe from London, the Chekhov International Theatre Festival from Moscow and the Farber Foundry from South Africa, among others.
TRAFFIC ALERT: The Lake Shore Drive exit ramp (at Illinois) to Navy Pier will be closed from 9-10:15 p.m. on Friday and 9:15-11 p.m. on Saturday.
