After 9 surprisingly entertaining Carole King-inspired performances the top 6 contestants who we've come to know and love, became the top 5 on tonight's elimination show. But who would be the next victim? Ryan started out the night by stating that MANY would be disappointed by tonight's outcome and I had tragic flashbacks of the Pia-elimination that shocked the country. Please don't let it be James!

After a cheesy Carole King medley, an even cheesier Ford music video, and an awkward Q&A with the idol finalists, Crystal Bowersox returned to the idol stage to sing her new song "Ridin' with the Radio" and brought her usual twang and personality that I had expected. It also marked the return of my favorite hookah microphone stand! I enjoyed the song, but I enjoyed her new teeth more - Good for you Crystal!

Ryan then brought each contestant to the center of the stage to watch a recap from last night, and hear Jimmy's opinion on where they stand in the competition. Haley was first, and was safe. Scotty and Lauren were sent back to couch? Casey...back to the couch? WHAT is going on? James was next and HE IS SAFE! Lauren is safe.

Bruno Mars performed "The Lazy Song" while his band sat on couches behind him in what looked like a 1995 jam session. Cute.

Casey got the lowest number of votes, for the second time but no judges save this episode. Casey then sang us out in one of the most memorable swan songs in idol history, kissing the judges and every lucky lady in the first row all while nailing the key change and creating an intimate moment with rumored girlfriend and fellow Idol contestant, Haley. The Idol stage will most definitely be less interesting now that Casey is gone. I'm not okay with this.
