Last night, Ryan announces importantly at the top of tonight's episode of American Idol, 53 million votes were cast - the highest number this season. Were they for your favorite? Find out now!

The Ford music video is a stargazing theme...so they have the singers pretending to be Zodiac signs in the sky. There's no way these music videos have ever compelled anyone to buy a car, anywhere, but it is what it is.

The show gets right down to the results this week with Hollie and Joshua. Hollie's in the bottom three, but Joshua is declared safe after a lengthy discussion on being afraid of planes. He's really gunning for the votes of his fellow claustrophobics, I guess.

Tonight seems to be Idol alumni night - Taylor Hicks announces that he'll be performing in Vegas this summer, Elliot Yamin is in the audience and Kris Allen performs a rocky version of his single "The Vision of Love."

Next to get results are Skylar and Elise. Jimmy's harsh with Elise's performance, saying: "She's going to spend some time this week in her vacation home, the bottom three." I'm totally not going to disagree - Elise is probably my least favorite of the remaining contestants - but ouch. He's right, though, and Elise heads to the bottom three while Skylar is declared safe.

Idol then screens a more formal video tribute to Dick Clark as narrated by Ryan. As smarmy as Ryan can be sometimes, it really does seem heartfelt and it's a nice tribute to an entertainment legend.

LMFAO performs in support of their upcoming summer tour before the remaining three singers get the results: Phillip Phillips and Jessica are safe, leaving Colton in the bottom three - and it's Colton who's headed home. I can't say I'm surprised - he was really bad yesterday - but Hollie wasn't at her greatest either. "I need to apologize. I wasn't myself last night," Colton says in parting.

So what do you think? Did the voters make the right decision? Tune in next week when the top six perform for another chance at your votes!
