Matthew Hydzik is WEST SIDE STORY's New Tony, December 15

The smash hit revival of WEST SIDE STORY announced today that Matthew Hydzik will officially take over the role of "Tony," beginning Tuesday, December 15. After having understudied the role since performances began on Broadway on Monday, February 23, 2009 at Broadway's Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway), Mr. Hydzik will star as "Tony" opposite Tony Award nominee Josefina Scaglione. Jeremy Jordan (Rock of Ages) will play the role of "Tony" on Wednesday evenings and Sunday matinees.

Shoshana Bean, best known for her star turns on the Broadway stage in Wicked and Hairspray and Off-Broadway's Godspell made her concert debut in New York City with a one-night only performance. Presented by Upright Cabaret, Shoshana returned to New York fresh from her summer concert at Hollywood's Ford Amphitheater. On Monday, November 30th, 2009,at 7:30 PM, Shoshana took to the stage at the Fredrick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Broadway at 60th Street, New York City, singing from the Streisand songbook and selections from her debut album, Superhero. A Happening was directed by Upright Cabaret Artistic Director Billy Porter with musical direction by James Sampliner.

Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls) has been added as the third and final judge on NBC's upcoming a cappella singing competition series, "The Sing-Off," a four night holiday event premiering Monday, December 14 (8-10 p.m. ET). Hosted by multi-platinum recording artist Nick Lachey, the one-of-a-kind battle of voices will continue on December 15 and 16, culminating in a live finale on December 21 (each night 8-10 p.m. ET). Ruthie Henshall will return to "CHICAGO" to reprise the role of ‘Roxie Hart' from Monday 14 December for nine weeks only (14 December - 28 February). Ruthie Henshall originated the role of ‘Roxie Hart' in 1997 - for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award - when "CHICAGO" first conquered the West End. As Ruthie Henshall is contracted to other commitments for selected performances between 28 December - 2 January, Bonnie Langford will play the role of ‘Roxie' for these performances.
