After a smash sellout at the August Wilson Theater with their 15th Anniversary Reunion Benefit Concert of The Who's Tommy last December, ROCKERS ON BROADWAY returned to BB King's on Monday November 2nd with another star-studded benefit show. Directed by Donnie Kehr, ROCKERS ON BROADWAY-Celebrating the '60s honored the songs and performers from Rock's greatest decade and will feature a "who's who" of classic recording artists performing alongside some of the biggest stars on Broadway, all to benefit Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, Broadway Dreams Foundation and the Bendheim Center/Scholarship Fund. CATS in Manila to Feature Tony Winner Lea Salonga as 'Grizabella', Begins Run 7/24/2010

CITIGROUP INC. has announced in the Philippine Daily Inquirer (11/3/09) that CATS, the second longest-running musical in Broadway history, will have a limited run at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) beginning July 24, 2010. This production will feature Tony winner Lea Salonga as Grizabella, and an international cast that will primarily come from Australia, and the United Kingdom. (more...)

Kristin Chenoweth Claims Place on Upcoming 'Glee' Album, Released 11/3

Kristin Chenoweth, who portrayed the role of April Rhodes on Glee recently, will be featured on the upcoming album, Glee: The Music, Volume 1. The Broadway star will be featured in the songs she performed on the show including Alone by Heart with the Glee regular Matthew Morrison, and Maybe This Time by Kander and Ebb featuring additional Broadway favorite Lea Michele. REVIEW: Musical Theatre West's Pleasant MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS (Ends 11/15)

LONG BEACH, CA—There was once a simpler time in America, specifically at the turn of the 20th century, when hope and tradition were the norm and the promise of progress was tangible in the age of new mechanized machinery. That antiquated era of traditional family dynamics is the setting for MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, playing through November 15 at Long Beach's Musical Theatre West. Set within the proper backdrop of the Missouri Landscape as its citizens prepare for the arrival of the 1904 World's Fair, this family-friendly musical has charm, sweetness, and abundance of "old-fashioned-ness" that it wears proudly on its sleeve with no amount of irony or a winking acknowledgment of its current modern audience. The show is filled with appeal but lacks the kind of edge or "wow" factor that is so much more present in material that succeeded it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not exactly it's best asset either. (more...)
