The New York Times is now reporting that a meeting has been scheduled for Friday with director Julie Taymor and members of the creative team and producers to discuss and determine the fate of the show. Executives quoted (anonymously) in the New York Times story tell the paper that it's expected that the show may not be prepared to open by April 29, 2010, the cutoff date for the Tony Awards nominators. Multiple reports have confirmed new progress on the Shrek spin-off, Puss in Boots, slated for release in November of 2011. Zach Galifianakis is allegedly in talks to voice Humpty Dumpty, joining Antonio Banderas as the title character, and Salma Hayek as Kitty. The film will follow Puss in Boots adventures before Shrek 2. The film is written by Tom Wheeler and directed by Chris Miller who co-wrote and co-directed Shrek the Third. (more...)
