The 21st Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION announced an all time record total of $4,630,695 had been raised by the 60 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and National Tour companies to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's total breaks the previous record when $3,927,000 was raised for the 2007 GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION. Photo Coverage: In the Recording Studio with the Cast of MEMPHIS!; Recording Available 12/11!

The Original Broadway Cast Recording of the celebrated new musical MEMPHIS will be available for purchase exclusively at the Shubert Theatre (225 West 44th Street) and online at www.memphisthemusical.com beginning Friday, December 11th. This special edition will feature a bonus track of “Memphis Lives in Me” performed by composer and Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan. The cast of MEMPHIS recorded the album at Avatar Studios on Monday, November 16, 2009. The recording is produced by Delray Records and nationwide distribution details will be available shortly.

GODSPELL Redux; Revival is Aiming for Broadway in 2010-2011

Producer Ken Davenport tells Variety today that he's secured the rights and is aiming to bring Godspell back to Broadway during the 2010-2011 season. The last attempt to bring back to the show, in fall of 2008 with different producers failed to secure needed funding and fell through. (more...)

Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure will play David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, formerly known as the TBPAC's Ferguson Hall Dec. 5, 2009 through Jan. 3, 2010, with preview performances scheduled Nov. 24 through Dec. 4. Following the Tampa run, Wonderland will play a limited engagement at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas, beginning Jan. 15, 2010.
