Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Carolee Carmello, David Garrison and More Set for Pre-Broadway TUCK EVERLASTING at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center

Producers Broadway Across America – Beth Williams, Howard & Janet Kagan and Barry Brown just announced casting for the world premiere production of the new musical TUCK EVERLASTING at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Emerson Colonial Theatre (106 Boylston Street) from July 28-August 18, 2013. The pre-Broadway production will feature (in alphabetical order): Fred Applegate (Sister Act) as ‘Constable Joe,' Marylouise Burke (Fuddy Meers) as ‘Nana,' Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello (Scandalous) as ‘Ma Tuck,' David Garrison (Titanic) as ‘The Man In The Yellow Suit,' Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies) as ‘Jesse Tuck,' Daytime Emmy Award Winner Michael Park (How To Succeed…) as ‘Pa Tuck,' Michael Wartella (The Kid) as ‘Hugo,' and Valerie Wright (Elf) as ‘Mother,' and will introduce Sadie Sink in the role of ‘Winnie.' Andy Richardson to Replace Andrew Keenan-Bolger as 'Crutchie' in NEWSIES, 3/11

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Andy Richardson will replace Andrew Keenan-Bolger as 'Crutchie' in Newsies, which is currently playing at the Nederlander Theatre. As BroadwayWorld previously announced, Keenean-Bolger will soon leave the production to star in the pre-Broadway engagement of Tuck Everlasting at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center. Richardson, who currently plays 'Romeo' will assume the role on March 11. (more...)

It could have been my head was cloudy from taking in everything new from tech, or maybe it was because I was trying so hard to learn my understudy roles, but when I saw on our daily schedule that we had a sitzprobe coming up I thought, 'Oh nice. It's our sitzprobe.' Considering I am privileged to help ORIGINATE a RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN MUSICAL on BROADWAY, my response to seeing sitzprobe on our daily schedule should have been something more along the lines of, 'AAaaaaaahhhhhsitzprobeaaaaaaAaaaaaaAAAHHHH!!!!!!!' (For anyone who doesn't know, sitzprobe, German for seated rehearsal, is the first time that singers get to sit down and make music with the orchestra.) (more...)

Duncan Sheik Has Broadway Plans for AMERICAN PSYCHO Musical?

Headlong will return to The Almeida Theatre following the critically acclaimed 2008 co-production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. The collaboration will continue in autumn 2013 with a new co-production – the World Premiere of American Psycho, with book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. Barry Manilow Expected to Return to MANILOW ON BROADWAY Tonight

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Barry Manilow postponed last night's performance of Manilow on Broadway, playing at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street) due to illness. Now according to the New York Times, Manilow has been cleared by his doctor to return to the stage tonight. (more...)

On doctors' orders, tonight's performance of MANILOW ON BROADWAY has been rescheduled. A makeup performance has been added on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 pm to accommodate ticketholders.
