Mark Evans and Christopher John O'Neill Join THE BOOK OF MORMON National Tour

According to the show's official website, Mark Evans and Christopher John O'Neill will join the cast of the national tour of The Book of Mormon as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham respectively. They replace Gavin Creel and Jared Gertner who join the West End company at the Prince of Wales Theatre from 25 February 2013. Performances for the upcoming national tour of FLASHDANCE – THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, begin January 1st and run through January 6 at Pittsburgh's Heinx Hall. At a recent press event, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl officially announced January 1st as FLASHDANCE day. Following the Pittsburgh engagement, FLASHDANCE will embark on a national tour to more than 25 cities in the next seven months with additional bookings to be announced soon. (more...)

Kristin Chenoweth's American Songbook Concert to Be Taped for PBS

In a recent interview with Deseret News, Broadway favorite Chenoweth revealed that her February 15 American Songbook concert will be taped for PBS. She told DN: 'The show will be very, very simple but will celebrate the classic American songs we know and love. I'm very honored to do the show for PBS. I'm glad there still is a PBS, if I can say that. PBS gives performers the opportunity to do things that they aren't always able to do and share this with the audience.' Not only does having kids make most of your life a scheduled occurance, but the nature of my job here at BroadwayWorld involves contacting theatre marketing folks to let them know you're interested in covering something or responding to an invite before setting foot inside a theatre.
