Roundabout Theatre Company will soon launch the national tour of the 2011 Tony® Award winning Anything Goes, starring Rachel York as Reno Sweeney. The national tour will set sail in Cleveland on October 2nd, and BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was invited to meet with the cast while they were still in rehearsals in New York City. While he was there, he caught a special performance preview and chatted with the whole team about taking the classic show on the road.

STAGE TUBE: Clips of Barbra Streisand's Son Jason Gould Singing on New Album

As first scooped by BroadwayWorld.com, the legendary Barbra Streisand recently revealed in an interview with Katie Couric that she will duet with her son, Jason Gould, at her upcoming Brooklyn concerts this October. On Gould's voice, Streisand revealed: 'When I heard the things he's recorded- the musicianship, the sound of his voice... it's like he has a little chamber music orchestra right in his vocal chords.'

Cameron Mackintosh Says MISS SAIGON is Next Musical to Hit Big Screen

On Christmas Day, the highly anticipated film version of Les Miserables hits the big screen, and according to producer Cameron Mackintosh, there might be another Boublil & Schonberg musical coming soon after. According to Ohnotheydidint, Mackintosh recently revealed: "If Les Mis is a success then Miss Saigon will be made into a film. It isn't confirmed at this point but there are many people sniffing around and offers coming in." (more...)

David Mirvish Writes Letter Addressing New Toronto Complex and Loss of the Princess of Wales Theatre

As BWW previously reported, David Mirvish and Frank Gehry are planning a "culture and condo" complex in Toronto's Entertainment District that would involve demolishing The Princess of Wales theatre. Mirvish wrote the following letter to the media in response to this news, addressing his and Gehry's new project, their decision to tear down the Princess of Wales Theatre, and their plans to continue Ed Mirvish's legacy. REBECCA Cast Set to Start Rehearsals on October 1?

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, REBECCA's lead producer Ben Sprecher recently confirmed the receipt of new financial commitments from investors to alleviate the $4.5 million gap in the musical's budget. The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony Award-winning play by Tony Award-nominee Rick Elice, today announced that the show will play its final Broadway performance on January 20, 2013, ending its nearly year-long run. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012 and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).
