Hollywood, FL Broadway Actors Series for Kids

Participants in First Session of "Broadway Actors Series"

to Perform "Once on this Island, Jr."

Twenty-two children ages 7 to 15 who are enrolled in the first session
of the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood's "Broadway Actors Series"
summer camp will perform "Once on This Island, Jr." on Friday, June 24,
at 5 p.m. at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center. This
American musical is based on Rosa Guys' novel "My Love, My Love," which was
inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid." Presented
with permission by Music Theatre International, "Once on This Island, Jr."
is the story of a young peasant girl has fallen in love above her
class. The tale is told with colorful costumes, upbeat music and great
characters. This program is supported by BankAtlantic Foundation. Tickets
are $5 for adults and $2 for children 13 and under. For tickets, please

The second session of the three-week "Broadway Actor Series" begins on
Monday, July 5, and ends on Friday, July 22. In this camp, students
will study acting; voice; movement; improvisation; and costume, set and
technical design. Camp participants will gain skills in character
development, projection, articulation, creative thinking, problem solving,
concentration, sketch design, and artistic creation. This session also
culminates with a presentation of Disney's "Aladdin, Jr." on Friday, July
22 at the theater.
