Back by popular demand, Historic Richmond Town and Time Warner Cable present UNCORKED!, New York City's 3rd Annual Wine, Food & Fun Fest. Sponsored by the Staten Island Advance, this year's UNCORKED! will take place on Saturday, May 21st, from 11 AM to 6 PM (rain or shine), right here in Historic Richmond Town, New York City's only living history village. "This is the way the Big Apple was meant to be eaten," declares Orly Wiseman, the event's co-chair.
As an Emmy award-winning television producer, Ms. Wiseman knows a thing or two about how to throw a quality event: "UNCORKED! has become one of the premiere food celebrations in the New York area. Only at Historic Richmond Town can you stroll the historic grounds while tasting amazing food from the area's top chefs and restaurants." Foodies from all over the region come each year to enjoy both contemporary and traditional cooking demonstrations. A day at UNCORKED! begins with a souvenir glass of red or white wine. Guests then follow the delicious aromas as they explore the grounds, tasting and sampling as they stroll. They have the opportunity to "see" food with New York Times photographer Andrew Scrivani, who teaches visitors how to use the camera to capture amazing food images. "Cheese School" is being taught by Decker Farm Manager and Executive Chef David Cavagnaro. This year, there will be Cheese School-301 for those just venturing into the incredible world of wine and cheese pairing. For UNCORKED! veterans there will be Cheese and Beer School-101, a course that matches New York State cheeses with beer brewed locally by Brooklyn Brewery.Videos
