Back by popular demand, Historic Richmond Town and Time Warner Cable present UNCORKED!, New York City's 3rd Annual Wine, Food & Fun Fest. Sponsored by the Staten Island Advance, this year's UNCORKED! will take place on Saturday, May 21st, from 11 AM to 6 PM (rain or shine), right here in Historic Richmond Town, New York City's only living history village. "This is the way the Big Apple was meant to be eaten," declares Orly Wiseman, the event's co-chair.

As an Emmy award-winning television producer, Ms. Wiseman knows a thing or two about how to throw a quality event: "UNCORKED! has become one of the premiere food celebrations in the New York area. Only at Historic Richmond Town can you stroll the historic grounds while tasting amazing food from the area's top chefs and restaurants." Foodies from all over the region come each year to enjoy both contemporary and traditional cooking demonstrations.

A day at UNCORKED! begins with a souvenir glass of red or white wine. Guests then follow the delicious aromas as they explore the grounds, tasting and sampling as they stroll. They have the opportunity to "see" food with New York Times photographer Andrew Scrivani, who teaches visitors how to use the camera to capture amazing food images. "Cheese School" is being taught by Decker Farm Manager and Executive Chef David Cavagnaro. This year, there will be Cheese School-301 for those just venturing into the incredible world of wine and cheese pairing. For UNCORKED! veterans there will be Cheese and Beer School-101, a course that matches New York State cheeses with beer brewed locally by Brooklyn Brewery.

YOU HAVE TO TASTE IT TO BELIEVE IT!

Professional cooks and amateur eaters will stroll side-by-side through the historic village as they taste what Staten Island's top restaurants have to offer. There will be decadent desserts fit to be tried, including some gluten-free goodies. You'll also be able to try some cabernet sorbet by Maze's Creamery, or a sushi roll, hand rolled by master sushi chefs from Fushimi. For a little more exotic flavor, you can try a samosa from Indian Clove or guacamole from Maizal Mexican, and wash it all down with some chocolate sangria from Pepper Jack Grill!

This year, we feature Katherine Alford, the Food Network's Test Kitchen Chef, and you are welcome to taste a recipe from her book Great Easy Meals. She'll be dishing out plenty of wonderful flavors and signing her book right after she's finished in the kitchen. You'll also meet Leda Meredith, author of The Locavore's Handbook, and hear practical, down-to-earth advice on how to "Eat Green." For the kids there will be cookie decorating, sugar art, and fun games to enjoy while mom and dad are satisfying their appetites.

Admission to UNCORKED! on the day of the event will be $30 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Adults who pre-pay their reservations by Tuesday, May 17th, will receive a discounted admission of $22. Pre-paid reservations can be made by calling 718.351.1611, ext. 281 or ext. 236.

Sponsors for this year's UNCORKED! include Time Warner Cable and the Staten Island Advance.
