Hayworth to World Premiere 'Last Fare'

The Hayworth Theatre will present the world premiere of Dominic Hoffman's Last Fare beginning April 27 and running through June 3.

"A man is murdered in his apartment," state press notes.  "An unseen interviewer attempts to piece together the elements of this person's life.  To uncover the details that make up the character of a human being.  How do we effect the people with whom we come in contact on a daily basis. Even our neighbors don't really know who we are."

Hoffman has written and will perform in Last Fare, considered "part mystery and party psychological examination," and will feature music by Branford Marsalis.  Hoffman created the role of Magus is the World Premier of "Dr. Faustus", written and directed by David Mamet at The Magic Theatre in San Francisco, where Dominic also performed his critically acclaimed solo piece "Uncle Jacque's Symphony".  "Uncle Jacque's Symphony" was presented at The Edinburgh Festival where it received the Highlight Award for Best Play, the San Francisco Fringe Festival, where it received Best of the Fringe and in Los Angeles where it garnered Ovation Awards for Best Writer of a World Premier Play and Best Actor in a Play.  Dominic was a writer on A Different World and as an actor, was most recently seen in recurring roles on "The Unit" and "The Shield."

Performance are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m.,  Sundays at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $25.  The Hayworth is located at 2509 Wilshire Blvd. two blocks east of Rampart near Downtown Los Angeles.  For tickets visit www.brownpapertickets.com or call 800-838-3006.
