Hartford's TheaterWorks to Open Season with THE SEAFARER
TheaterWorks, downtown Hartford's home for contemporary drama, opens its 23rd Season with Conor McPherson's Tony Award-nominated The Seafarer, directed by Henry Wishcamper. A fiercely funny spiked Christmas punch from one of Ireland's hottest playwrights, the production will feature John Ahlin, Chris Genebach, Edmond Genest, Allen McCullough and Dean Nolen. It's Christmas Eve and four Irish blokes converge in a dingy Dublin basement for a festive evening of whiskey and poker. When a mysterious stranger arrives, the stakes of the game are raised frighteningly high.
The show will run from November 12th through December 21st, 2008 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday Matinees at 2:30 p.m. at TheaterWorks, 233 Pearl Street in Downtown Hartford.
Tickets are $37, except Friday and Saturday nights, $47. Center Reserved Seating available for $11 extra. For tickets, call (860) 527-7838. For more information, visit theaterworkshartford.org.
TheaterWorks' 2008-2009 Season is sponsored by Aetna. TheaterWorks' City Initiatives sponsored by United Technologies. Additional season support provided by Greater Hartford Arts Council and Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.
