Harris Theater Appoints New Staff Members

Following a series of national recruitment searches, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance is pleased to announce one promotion and the appointment of two new staff members. Katie Ide, the Theater's Senior Marketing Manager has been promoted to the position of Director of Marketing and Sales. The Harris Theater also welcomes Omar Miller, who will join the staff as Marketing Manager, Digital Media, and Lori Dimun, the Theater's new Director of Operations.

Since joining the staff in 2007, Katie Ide has made significant contributions to the growth of the Harris Theater. In her role as Senior Marketing Manager, she managed the effectiveness of Tessitura Customer Management System and the growth of the Harris Theater Consortium, including marketing and box office support for the Theater's 35 resident companies. Katie was also a key team builder and leader in several new initiatives including the Theater's Learning Lab training workshops, new website development, sales promotions and digital media. As Director of Marketing and Sales, the Harris will benefit from Ms. Ide's institutional knowledge, strategic thinking, and past professional experience serving as Director of Audience Services at Steppenwolf Theater Company, and as a Project/Account Manager at Klearsky Solutions. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in arts, entertainment, and media management at Columbia College Chicago.

Omar Miller, joins the Harris Theater staff as Marketing Manager, Digital Media. Omar has extensive integrated marketing experience at organizations such as Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Discover Card and most recently his work at the Kellogg School of Management where he has been managing the global marketing and sales strategy for more than 35 executive education certificate programs. In his new position, Omar will be responsible for leading the digital marketing and website strategy for the Theater. He will also manage customer relationship systems within the Tessitura consortium on a day-to-day basis. Mr. Miller earned a masters of arts in arts, entertainment, and media management from Columbia College Chicago and a bachelor of arts in Spanish from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida.

Effective June 1, Lori Dimun joins the Harris Theater as its new Director of Operations. Lori has worked with Steppenwolf Theatre Company for the past seven years, joining the staff as Special Events Manager and expanding the department and her role to become its Director of Events Management, managing the rental contracts for Theatre's special events, as well as the logistics for annual Galas. As Director of Operations, Lori will serve as liaison to potential users of the Theater as well as its current Resident Companies. In addition to managing internal operations of the Theater, Lori will be responsible for marketing the Harris Theater to commercial and nonprofit users. She earned a Master's degree in Secondary Education and a Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Drury University.
