Having played more than 24,000 games in 120 countries and territories over the past 86 years, the Harlem Globetrotters have seen and accomplished almost everything in their illustrious history. Except they have never played in Brooklyn. That's about to change as the Globetrotters will play in the borough for the first time ever when they bring their unique brand of family entertainment to Barclays Center on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 5:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Wednesday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. and will be available through Ticketmaster by visitingwww.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.

Brooklyn Nets All Access season ticket buyers have the opportunity to purchase tickets for Barclays Center events before the general public. "The Globetrotters are honored to play for the first time ever in Brooklyn at the world-class Barclays Center," said Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. "Brooklyn is an amazing place, from its storied sports history to the distinct neighborhoods to the cultural offerings. The entire organization is looking forward to this historic event and seeing the new venue with our fans."

"We get the chance to entertain our fans at some great venues all around the world," said Globetrotter Showman Special K Daley. "We are excited about the opportunity to add to that tradition by playing the new Barclays Center.  I received a behind-the-scenes tour of Barclays Center this month and I love the feel of the arena and how the fans are so close to the action. It's going to be a great atmosphere."

"We are excited to welcome the Harlem Globetrotters and their crowd-pleasing brand of basketball to Brooklyn for the first time," said Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark. "For generations the Globetrotters have provided fun and laughter to fans all over the world and now we are proud to bring these wonderful showmen and their famed 'Sweet Georgia Brown' anthem to Barclays Center."

As with all events at Barclays Center, arena staff will work closely with the MTA to coordinate mass transit to and from the arena based on the event profile and with NYPD and other City agencies to ensure safety and security procedures are strictly followed and enforced.
