Hairspray's Michael Longoria Plays Ars Nova April 11

Ars Nova (voted "Best of New York" by New York Magazine) continues its acclaimed UNCHARTED series with Michael Longoria (Hairspray) in concert performing songs from his newly released CD Under 1000 Shades of Blue. Uncharted: Michael Longoria will be on Monday, April 11 at 7 PM at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street). Admission includes a free copy of Longoria's new CD.

Longoria's band includes Damien Bassman (Fiddler on the Roof/Laugh Whore/Quasilulu), Jesse Nager (Mamma Mia/Good Vibrations), Stefan Held (Bat Boy/Hairspray/Little Shop of Horrors), Rashad Naylor (Hairspray) and Pearl Sun (Shout/The Seven/Irrationals).

Ars Nova's UNCHARTED series, curated by Resident Artist Andrew Lippa, blasts through industry blockades, providing a forum for burgeoning singer/songwriters to perform original music in front of a live audience. Focusing on emerging talents who have yet to break the Billboard 100, this Ars Nova series sets out to cover a wide range of musical styles while providing music lovers and industry taste-makers an introduction to exciting new music and talents. Ars Nova is committed to offering an intimate platform to performers, composers and lyricists who wish to explore new material in a comfortable setting. Past performers have included Andrew Lippa, Scott Mebus, Debra Barsha (Radiant Baby), Gavin Creel, Chester Gregory and Daniel Zaitchik.
