According to Deadline.com, HBO has chosen not to go further with John Logan's Miraculous Year pilot. The Broadway star packed pilot was directed by Kathryn Bigelow and featured music by Adam Guettel. HBO reortedly decided to pass on the series becuase it did not have a wide enough appeal.

'Miraculous Year' was a New York family drama, centered on Terry Segal (Norbert Leo Butz), a composer and lyricist for Broadway. His father Alex (Frank Langella) is a painter; his sister Mandy (Hope Davis) is a lawyer. Eddie Redmayne played a role described as "captivating and sexy." A Broadway diva (LuPone) was to play a recurring role, along with her son (Stark Sands). Filling out the cast were Lee Pace as Terry's partner, Brooks Ashmanskas as Terry's librettist, Daniel Davis as Terry's mentor, Linus Roach as Mandy's husband, Elaine Cassidy as Terry's assistant, and Remy Nozik and Logan Georges as Mandy's children.
