According to Deadline.com, HBO has jumped on the Broadway bandwagon and recently bought a new theatre-themed comedy series titled '44th Street.' Created by NewsRadio's Paul Simms, the series is about 'two veteran theatre actors struggle to find success amidst a world of upstarts and critics.' Casting has not yet been announced.
This news comes almost a year and a half after HBO decided to pass on a different Broadway star-packed project- The Miraculous Year.

Simms began his career in television writing for Late Night with David Letterman, and later wrote for the HBO program, The Larry Sanders Show. He was the creator and head writer for the NBC sitcom, NewsRadio. More recently, he has directed and produced for the HBO series The Flight of the Conchords.
