Jon Rua has announced that he will play his final performance in Broadway's Hamilton on Wednesday, June 29th. The actor has served as the official understudy for the lead role of Alexander Hamilton, taking over the track when Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilton alternate Javier Muñoz are not able to appear.

Rua also portrays General Charles Lee in the production and appears as a member of the show's ensemble.

Over the weekend, Rua shared news of his departure on Twitter:

Rua's other Broadway credits include HANDS ON A HARDBODY, and IN THE HEIGHTS. Off-Broadway credits include Kung Fu, Chad Deity. Regional credits include Somewhere (Old Globe), Bring It On, West Side Story. He has appeared on the big screen in "Fall to Rise" and guest starred on TV's "Law & Order."
