HAIRSPRAY And CARMEN Among The Napa Valley Opera House's Upcoming Fall Season

The Napa Valley Opera House is hard at work preparing the upcoming fall season, featuring musical legends, Café Theatre dance parties, comedy and family shows, a circus under the big top and so much more. We will announce the season publicly on Wednesday, August 5th. Public ticket sales begin Monday, August 10th, with advance member sales beginning Monday, August 3rd. New this season . . . the Opera House is partnering with Back Room Wines to provide a new selection of wines specifically chosen for Opera House patrons. And, a new selection of desserts including Haagen-Dazs ice cream are available in the Café Theatre. Be sure to come early for these tempting treats!

Coming up at the Opera House …

Summer Sing-a-long Movie: Hairspray – Friday, July 24, 7pm ($12)

Get your big hair on as you sing Good Morning Baltimore in Hairspray, a Kennedy-era musical romp from John Waters. You Can’t Stop the Beat of these teeny-boppers from another decade fighting racial prejudice and fat phobia through the joy of music. Subtitles provided so you’re sure to know every word.

Smokey Robinson at the Robert Mondavi Winery – Saturday, August 1, 7PM (press release attached, photos available) (General seating: $95)

The Napa Valley Opera House presents a magical outdoor summer evening concert with Smokey Robinson, including 14 band members, two dancers and two vocalists in celebration of the Robert Mondavi Winery Concert Series’ 40th anniversary. Comedian Doug Starks, who has performed everywhere from Radio City Music Hall to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, opens the show.

This event is a fund-raiser for the Opera House and includes a spectacular 31-item silent auction featuring wine, spa treatments, vacations, and unique experiences unavailable anywhere else. Lamplighters Music Theatre presents My Fair Lady – Friday, August 7, 8PM; Saturday, August 8, 8PM; Sunday, August 9, 2PM (press release attached, photos available) ($38 / $43)

The hit tunes just keep coming in this concert version of the Broadway classic. Special guest Geoff Hoyle appears as the incorrigible Alfred P. Doolittle.

An Evening with Bruce Hornsby on Solo Piano – Saturday, August 15, 8PM (press release attached, photos available) ($80)

Since the release of his first album in April 1986, Bruce Hornsby has created a musical life that has expanded far and wide to include a broad stylistic range of activity. A 13-time Grammy nominee and three-time Grammy winner, Hornsby’s 13 albums have sold over 11 million copies worldwide. Known around the music industry as a collaborator, Hornsby has been sought after by a veritable “who’s who” in the music business.

Napa Valley Opera House annual black-tie gala featuring Pink Martini – Saturday, Oct 3, 4:00pm (tickets start at $350)

A martini and wine bar, spectacular live auction, gourmet meal and exciting performance await at this year’s annual black-tie gala benefiting the Napa Valley Opera House. A luxurious Pink Pavilion will serve as the backdrop for a night to remember, which also features a performance by Pink Martini, a band hailed by The New York Times as “shaking and stirring a polyrhythmic, one-world cocktail.” Tickets & info: www.nvoh.org/gala.
