'Great American Trailer Park Musical' Next Up for Street Theatre Company
Hailed as "Desperate Housewives meets South Park," Street Theatre Company will present the Nashville premiere of The Great American Trailer Park Musical November 13-29.
"This is a show about agoraphobia, adultery, '80s nostalgia, strippers, roadkill and hysterical pregnancy...it's everything a musical should be," according to Cathy Sanborn Street, executive artistic director for the company.
Directed by Larry Tobias, performances will be held at "Armadillo Acres," located at 1031 Elm Hill Pike, just off the Fessler's Lane exit of I-24. Curtain is at 8 p.m. for Friday and Saturday shows; at 5 p.m. for Sunday performances.
Throughout the show's run, ticket specials will ensure that audience members can save at least $2.00 off their ticket prices, as follows:
Friday, November 13: Bring a lawn ornament and receive $2 off
Saturday, November 14: Wear a wife beater and receive $2 off
Sunday, November 15: Pay-what-you-can-night (tickets are pay what you can afford and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, half an hour before curtain.
Friday, November 20: Bring your own lawn chair and receive $2 off
Saturday, November 21: Bring a canned good for Second Harvest FoodBank and receive $2 off
Sunday, November 22: Student Performance, all student tickets are $2 off
Friday, November 27: Talk-Back Night (audience is invited to stay for a post-show discussion with cast and crew)
Saturday, November 28:Sat Bring a hand-me-down for Goodwill and receive $2 off
Sunday, November 29: Cleavage discount (male or female) and receive $2 off
Throughout the run, a "third wheel ticket" is available: "Now it's a good thing to be the third wheel," Street explained. "Every third person in the party gets their ticket for only $3."
