Great American Songbook Concert Series Comes To Metropolis

WJJG Radio host Kevin Moore brings his successful Great American Songbook concert series to Arlington Heights' Metropolis with a tribute to one of America's most prolific composers: Irving Berlin.

Kevin Moore Presents Score-by-Score: An Evening of Irving Berlin
features some of Chicago's top musical talent that have graced stages throughout the world including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Town Hall in New York, performing music and memories of the Oscar, Tony and Grammy Award winning composer. This must see event takes place on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:30 P.M at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 West Campbell Street in downtown Arlington Heights. Tickets are $32, $37 for stage tables and $25 for seniors and can be purchased at MetropolisArts.com or by calling the box office at 847.577.2121. Street parking is available. Free parking is available in the public garage behind the theatre.

Irving Berlin
is widely considered one of America's greatest songwriters. During his 60-year career he wrote an estimated 1,500 songs, including 25 #1 hits, the scores for 19 Broadway shows (Annie Get Your Gun & Call Me Madam) and 18 Hollywood films (Easter Parade, White Christmas & Holiday Inn). Nominated eight times for an Academy Award, many of his songs became popular themes and anthems, including God Bless America, White Christmas, Easter Parade and There's No Business Like Show Business.

The performers for the evening include Kevin Moore (emcee) and Chicago's most in-demand and award winning entertainers including Beckie Menzie (musical director), Anne Burnell, Laura Freeman, Tom Michael, Heather Moran and Daryl Nitz.

, who recently received the Leonardo Da Vinci Award for excellence in the field of broadcast and communications hosts WJJG AM1530's The Kevin Moore Show (Mondays & Thursday's 2:30-4:00pm). With this salute to Berlin, Moore continues his highly acclaimed Score-by-Score concert series that have included tributes to Andrew Lloyd Weber, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Burt Bacharach, Barry Manilow and Broadway. These celebrated musical performances have played to sold out audiences in the mid-west's most prestigious concert halls including Chicago's Auditorium Theatre, Drury Lane Water Tower, Moraine Valley Fine & Performing Arts Center and the Skokie Theatre.
