Gorilla Tango Theatre Presents BIKINI SHAKESPEARE: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, 7/12-8/30

Gorilla Tango is pleased to add a brand new sexy offering to its mix of shows with BIKINI SHAKESPEARE: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, which will performing Thursdays at 7:30pm, July 12 - August  30, 2012 at Gorilla Tango Theatre Bucktown (1919 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago 60647). BIKINI SHAKESPEARE: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING features nine twenty-something actors performing one of Shakespeare's most delightful comedies, clad only in - you guessed it - bikinis or speedos. Benedick and Beatrice, two people sworn to never fall in love (especially with each other!), are constantly in a war of wits. Little do they know their closest friends are scheming to bring them together all while a disgruntled Bastard plots everyone's demise. Sit back, relax, and bask in the beauty of Shakespeare's language and the beauty of other things as well, as BIKINI SHAKESPEARE: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING unfolds during a hot summer on the beach. 

Director/Adapter Katie Horwitz states, "In this show, everyone is dressed - at all times - in either a bikini or a speedo. "They are performing the heck out of Shakespeare, and looking darn good while doing it." she laughs, "the convention becomes the norm and as an audience member you suddenly realize that you have just come to accept the bathing suits as the base costume and are caught up in the story - one of my favorite Shakespearean plays." 

Adds Executive Producer Katie Johnston-Smith (author of the smash hit "Attend the Tale of Danny Tanner: A Full House Musical" currently playing through July at GTT), "We're hoping to peak the interest of audiences who may not be so keen on Shakespeare, but are wondering how the heck we're gonna juxtapose the two things. And c'mon - there are definitely worse ways to view Shakespeare."
