Golden Apple Dinner Theatre In Danger of Closing
The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre, which has been in operation for four decades in Sarasota, may be forced to close due to financial woes. A statement on the theatre's website reads:
Having weathered the past five years of hurricanes, false starts on a Palm Avenue parking garage, the Great recession, the oil spill and the traumatic impact of the 2010 downtown construction, which surrounded us, we are out of money. We were forced to sell our property to pay off our largest debt, but we realized not one red cent from the transaction. We even had to bring cash to the closing to complete the sale.
After forty years of service to the community we are asking our friends and neighbors to pitch in and help keep us to stay afloat. No contribution is too small. With your help we will continue to provide the area with quality entertainment at reasonable prices.
