Go Comedy! Improv Theater Premieres Two New Shows 10/8

By:

Go Comedy! Improv Theater is set to premiere two shows Thursday, October 8: Super Action News and Shim & D'rothy. The new line up replaces Travel Earth Time Shares, Douche Douche Bhang Bhang, Silent and Matt Naas & The Sing A Long Singers which will end their Go Comedy! runs on Thursday, September 24. Tickets ($10) are available by calling (248) 327-0575 or in person at the Go Comedy! box office Wed - Sun at 7pm.

Go Comedy! is ready to go where local news fears to tread. Super Action News will take metro Detroiters to the funny side of the headlines. Quick bites, sketch comedy, and in-depth reporting will shed a comedic light on what's happening in Metro Detroit and beyond. The Super Action News team; Anne Faba (Clinton Township) Louie Krause (Garden City), Matt Naas (Ferndale) and Mikey Wilson (Detroit) along with special guests and correspondents from the Go Comedy! family and stage manager Pete Jacokes ( Ferndale ) present the latest scoop every Thursday night at 9pm through November 5.

Shim and D'rothy is written and performed by Go Comedy! member Ryan Parmenter ( Southfield ) and Carrie Hall ( Berkley ). Shim fancies himself a comedian. D'rothy fancies herself a social crusader. Together they put on a heck of a show that's part educational presentation, part variety show, and a lot of hilarity. Directed by Jaime Moyer ( Detroit ) with stage direction by Peter Jacokes ( Ferndale ), Shim & D'rothy incorporates multimedia elements by Mikey Brown ( Ferndale ) and choreography by Lauren Bickers ( Ferndale ), it plays Thursday nights at 9:30pm through November 5.

Beginning Thursday, October 1st Thursday nights at 8pm will showcase a series of Go Comedy! original presentations by members of Go Comedy!'s casts. Thursday, October 1st will feature a performance of Manny and Sol: Guys Gone Wild with Go Comedy! Generation Gap members Peter Werthmann and Alan Fox. The two appear as Manny and Sol - retired guys gone wild looking to reconnect with today's youth and to see the world. Super Action News and Shim & D'rothy will preview immediately following Manny and Sol.

Tickets for Thursday nights at Go Comedy! are $10 for the night and are available by calling (248) 327-0575 or in person beginning at 7pm Wednesday - Sunday at the Go Comedy! box office.

Go Comedy! Improv Theater is located at 261 East Nine Mile Rd , Ferndale , MI 48220 in the building formerly occupied by the Ferndale Secretary of State office.
