Amazon.com reports that playwright Glen Berger, who worked alongside Julie Taymor, Bono and The Edge on SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, will see his book "Song of Spider-Man: The Inside Story of the Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History" hit the shelves on November 5, 2013.

The book is described as: "Author Glen Berger was present at the creation, when visionary director Julie Taymor selected him to collaborate with her on the book of the musical. For seven years, Berger was an eyewitness to great artistic hopes and battles as Taymor sought to bring her vision to the stage, along with celebrated rock stars Bono and The Edge. But despite terrible reviews and public ridicule, Spider-Manwent on to become one of the top ten grossing musicals in the history of Broadway-a feat inseparable from its creators' unassailable passion, immense efforts, and artistic ambition. With a sharp eye for detail and candid sense of humor, Berger reveals every aspect-the highs and lows-of the production and in doing so, takes us inside the theatrical process in a way few authors can. The Song of Spider-Man is the ultimate fly-on-the-wall account of how Broadway works, how big musicals are made, and how great artists continue to dream, even in the midst of a nightmare."

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award-winners Bono and The Edge and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with direction by Ms. Taymor and additional direction by Philip William McKinley. Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were nominated for Tony Awards for their work on Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark.

Berger's works include Underneath the Lintel, The Wooden Breeks, O Lovely Glowworm, Great Men of Science, Nos. 21 & 22, for which he received the 1998 Ovation Award, I Will Go... I Will Go..., On Words and Onwards, A Night in the Old Marketplace, Trepidation Nation, Max & Ruby, Tales From The Faucet, And Other Stories, Darwinii: The Comeuppance of Man and more than 100 episodes of various children's television series, for which he scooped up two Emmys.
