Gay-Themed Play Series at Wings Theatre March 4 & 5

By:

"March Madness" will celebrate the Village Playwrights second year of producing plays and show case seven new short plays by members of the Village Playwrights, New York's Lesbian and Gay playwrights collective, with a wide range of controversial topics such as police misconduct, sexual harassment, sexual abuse and mistreatment of pets.

George Bistransin's Arcadia in Academia deals with a gay college professor who changes a student's grade for sex and the repercussions on his wife and the student who has a crush on him.

In Provocateur a demonstrator at the 2004 Republican Convention seeks help in finding her video camera—with evidence of police misbehavior—from a police officer whom she's also dated.

Insider Steal explores what happens when decent people are tempted by a lot of money to cross the line.

Kevin Berry's Suburb is a comedy about a gay couple who are contemplating a move to the suburbs.

In Home a husband and wife face the reality of home when a devastating event happens.

In Lawrence F. Schwabacher's comedy Where Is Sin Jin? a gay man leaves his cat with his boyfriend; and upon his return, he believes his boyfriend has taken advantage of the opportunity.

Second Thoughts by Bob Quinn is about a man whose encounter with a homeless man while waiting for a romantic rendezvous leads to doubts, shame, anger, and feelings of desperation.

"March Madness" will be presented in the Wings Theater (154 Christopher Street, New York City) at 8 PM on Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 5.   Tickets are $10.  Students, Seniors and Students are $5.  For reservations or information call 718-381-1487 or e-mail Ludicrum@yahoo.com
