E!Online reports exclusively that FOX will add two new characters to its cast in the wake of the recent loss of Glee fan favorite Cory Monteith. The actor died of an accidental drug overdose on Saturday, July 13th.

Casting calls have gone out for two new roles including that of 'Jenny,' described as a "cute and quirky twentysomething" and an African-American student who will be new to McKinley High School. Qualified actors must be able to sing.

The network recently announced that Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique) have been promoted to series regulars. In addition it was confirmed that Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, and Harry Shum, Jr. will not return as regulars for the fifth season. Dianna Agron will also depart the series, except for an occasional guest appearance.

Glee was set to begin production on the new season at the end of the month with a season premiere scheduled for September 19th. It has not yet been announced whether the debut will be postponed. "Everyone is in shock," a source told E! News. "To say that Cory was much loved on the Glee set doesn't even begin to do him justice."
