GIRL IN ARGENTINE LANDSCAPE makes its east coast debut at the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. Having recently completed a sold-out and extended tour of her more recent Carnival Knowledge, solo artist Naomi Grossman  -- who will have a recurring role on the second season of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story starring Jessica Lange -- returns to the Big Apple to debut her latest show.

An autobiographical coming-of-age tale, GIRL IN ARGENTINE LANDSCAPE chronicles one girl’s metamorphosis from “big dork” to “bad a**.” Naomi, an illustrious overachiever and daughter of intellectuals, longs to experience life beyond straight A’s and extracurricular excess. She leaves her native New Mexico on an Argentine adventure, where she discovers her big-haired and big-mouthed alter-ego, Carmen Mercedes. And yet, her new identity is threatened by her impending return. She faces a final challenge: leaving her geeky baggage back in Argentina and bringing Carmen Mercedes home in its place.

GIRL IN ARGENTINE LANDSCAPE was originally mounted at Hollywood’s National Comedy Theatre where it received rave reviews (LA Weekly, “Pick of the Week”) and earned Grossman an LA Weekly Theatre Award nomination for best solo performance. She subsequently toured with the show to Chicago's Single File Festival (Anthenaeum Theatre), the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival (Barnsdall Gallery Theatre), and screened a subtitled video-version on the big screen in Argentina.

“Grossman captivates with her wonderfully expressive face and athletic body. Her anecdotes about her family’s cultural excesses are hilarious... Equally funny are her experiences in Cordoba... Grossman may feel at home in Argentina, but she’s equally at home onstage in Hollywood.” raves BackStage West.

In addition to her solo work, Grossman writes, produces, and stars in comedic short films, now screening at nationwide film festivals and available for view on FunnyorDie and Comedy Central’s Atom.  She is a former member of the esteemed Groundlings Sunday Company and graduate in theatre from Northwestern University.

GIRL IN ARGENTINE LANDSCAPE will be performed at The Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond St. between Lafayette & Bowery -- accessible from the 6 train to Bleecker; F, M, B, D to Broadway/Lafayette). The performance schedule is as follows: TUES 8/14 @ 6; WED 8/15 @ 8; FRI 8/17 @ 4; TUES 8/21 @ 9:45; & THURS 8/23 @ 7. Tickets are $15 in advance at www.FringeNYC.org or 1-866-468-7619
