FridayFest at the Van Wezel Celebrates the 60s With YESTERDAYZE!
There is plenty of FREE family fun to be had this summer at the Van Wezel's FridayFest on Sarasota's Bayfront! On July 15 Sixties tribute band Yesterdayze will help us discover our inner hippy with the legendary music that defined the decade.
The musicians of Yesterdayze live and breathe the sound of the 60's and invite their audience to join them on their journey through the past. Not only does Yesterdayze bring a hypnotic sixties sound, but the musicians dress the part, recreating the full experience. The band will sample favorites from The Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, Elvis, Dionne Warwick, and more.
Guests are invited to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Local vendors offer food and beverages. Outside food and drink is prohibited, along with coolers and weapons of any kind. FridayFest takes place in rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the festival will move indoors to the Grand Foyer of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. FridayFest is from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm.
The presenting sponsors are Sandy and Bill Dietrich and MetroPCS. Additional sponsors are Comcast, Bright House Networks, Budweiser, ABC 7, Pelican Press, The Observer Group, The Van Wezel Foundation, Boar's Head, Waste Management, InterMedia Productions, Cameresi Designs, and Business by the Bay, 92.1 My FM.
