Free Reading Of Richard Janaro's 'WOPS'
GableStage at the Biltmore announced a dramatic reading of WOPS, a memoir by Richard Janaro, at 7:30pm on Monday, January 19, 2009.
On a day honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., this will be the first public reading of a "semi-true" play, which celebrates four generations of the playwright's Italian immigrant family, who lived through much of the turmoil and social upheavals of the last century and endured, in the words of the author's grandmother "one long Depression." It is designed as a tour de force for three actors, playing multiple roles in multiple accents.
The actors are Antonio and Katherine Amadeo and John Manzelli. The director is Deborah Mello.
Admission is free. No reservations required.
GableStage is located in the eastern section of the Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables. Valet parking is available. Free parking is available in the Biltmore parking area west of the hotel.
