Frankie's Announces Own Wine Label

By:

Wine down at Frankie's! Frankie's Scaloppine & 5th Floor Pizzeria, on level five of the 900 North Michigan Shops (900 N. Michigan Ave.), crafts its first wine label "Frankie's Takes the 5th."

After the hugely successful $10 per bottle Monday and Tuesday wine program at Frankie's, the restaurant decided to create its own label, and selected a winery located in the Province of Chieti, in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Chris Favero, corporate partner at Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and supervising and managing partner of Frankie's, and Master Sommelier Alpana Singh collaborated with the winery to create "Frankie's Takes the 5th," a custom blend that was made exclusively for Frankie's.

A Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine was chosen, a regularly preferred selection by Frankie's customers. The label is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes grown in the Abruzzo region along the Adriatic Sea. It is a medium-bodied, plush and juicy wine with vibrant flavors of ripe black plums and black cherries. It is a carefree wine that pairs perfectly with any of Frankie's brick-oven Sardinian-style Pizzas, Meatballs with Spaghetti or Chicken Parmesan.

"Frankie's Takes the 5th" is sold by the bottle at Frankie's at $10 on Mondays and Tuesdays and at $20 all remaining days; it is also available by the glass for $5 every day of the week. On Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, bottles also may be purchased for $10. Bottles are available for dining in and carrying out.
